ANSWERS
8. How do I unzip the program?
You need to double click on the file to unzip it. The computer will ask you where do you want the files to be unzipped. Choose a folder (and remember where you put it) and save the file there. Then double click on the executable screen saver file (e.g., dolphin.exe) to install. If you get an error message that it doesn't know how to open the file you probably don't have an uninstall program on your computer and you will need to download an unzip application to unzip the demo file. (See question 14)

9. I downloaded the registered version but the demo version keeps coming up.
Make sure you installed the screen saver (See question 4). If you installed the registered version and the demo still is displaying, you should uninstall your demo and the registered version, restart your computer, and then reinstall the registered version this will fix the problem. (This is needed for some computers, it's infrequent) . If you have many screen savers installed, on some systems the number of screen savers which will show up in the control panel is limited, so uninstalling one or more screen savers will allow you to install new ones and have them show up properly in the Control Panel.

11. My screen saver is missing the sound
Many of our screen savers have MIDI files for the music. Some are MP3 files. Download this MIDI file and this MP3 file and see if they play. If they do not you may need to configure your computer to play either the MIDI files or the MP3 files (see question 13). If you can play both the MIDI and MP3 files, then see 10 above. You may have an incomplete download.

If after you configure your computer to play the sound files you still are not able to play the MP3 file you may need to update your Windows media player, or if you have Windows 2000 you'll need Windows Media Payer v 6.4 to hear MP3 files. Windows Media Player v 7.1 does not play MP3 files for NT or 2000 systems. To change your Windows Media player. CLICK HERE to go to the download area for Microsoft products. Select your operating system and Windows Media Player. Then download the latest Windows Media Player for your computer (without SDK or Resource Kit in the name of the player). Write to us if you need help.

12. When I try to install my screen saver it tells me some support files are missing or that it is not a valid Win32 app

Close all program files before installing the screen saver. This is the most common cause of this error message.

If you are on an NT-based system (Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP) you need to be an administrator to install a screen saver. Version 6 screen savers will not install at all on these systems unless you are an administrator. (If you're not an administrator you get a dialog saying that you need administrator privileges to install it.) Screen savers made with older versions of Screen Saver Studio, however, will try to install the screen saver regardless. Sometimes it will install and work, other times it will give the missing files error. (It has to do with exactly what permissions you have, what OS is running and if the hard-drive is FAT or NTFS.)

If you do not have Windows NT or 2000, you may have had an incomplete download and therefore had a corrupted installation. Occasionally that happens with Internet downloads. If you have a download accelerator or download manager program disable it. Frequently these programs are the cause of corrupted or incomplete downloads. If you uninstall the screen saver program you downloaded and it was an incomplete download, (this is important so you don't reinstall over a corrupted file) you need to remove that file and then download the file again and reinstall it. Uninstallation instructions are listed in Question 5 .

Then download the screen saver installation file again from the same link as before. Close all open programs (including email and web browser) and then re-install the screen saver. That should fix the problem

14. Where can I get unzip software?
If you don't have that you can download a free evaluation version from http://www.winzip.com/ddchomea.htm. You will need to install that demo.

15. I order a screen saver but I did not receive my screen saver (or download link)
The link to download your screen saver is in the "Thank you for your order" email you were sent sent shortly after you placed your order. If you did not receive that email, please contact us at the Contact Page. If you have difficulty with your download, please contact us at the Contact Page.
